Independent Learning Program

In an effort to extend our mission and further expand our school family, we are thrilled to announce the start of our ILP for the 2017-18 school year. Our desire is to partner with like-minded families to provide a support system and fulfill our school’s mission of “teaching minds and training hearts for God.” As you seek to fulfill this mission in your own family through independent study, our ILP can provide opportunities for your child to further develop his/her academic and creative abilities, athletic skills, and spiritual growth.

Kindergarten - Sixth Grade:

These options are available for students entering K-6th grade in the 2017-18 school year. (Transcripts, Statement of Faith, proof of enrollment in HSLDA, Immunization Record, etc.) Each family will be required to meet with the ILP Director at least three times a year. Elementary ILP students are required to attend weekly chapel services on Wednesdays at 8:15 am.

ENRICHMENT CLASSES

ILP students may attend weekly enrichment classes with their current grade. These classes include art, music, or computers. These classes are held on different days of the week.

Art - Taught by Mr. Bob Hernandez, President of the ARTree Community Arts Center and Emmy Award-winning artist and graphic designer, our elementary students learn creative expression through the use of a variety of media. Students will practice drawing, painting, and constructing
works of art.

Music - Students learn the basics of music theory, note reading, and music appreciation through the study of various composers and musical genres. Students apply this knowledge as they rehearse for our yearly Christmas and Spring Concerts.

Computers - Using the fun and exciting program learning.com, elementary students begin learning keyboarding and basic computer skills in Kindergarten. Each year, they review and then build on those skills, becoming well-versed in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation
software, and eventually programming and coding.
